New Inventory Coming Soon!

I've been picking like crazy at estate sales, thrift stores and prop houses.   It's been fun but exhausting, especially because now I bring along my precious Audric who is only 9 weeks old.

Here is a look at some of my haul. I'm also bringing in a Danish modern rope rocking chair and a Eero Saarinen style wood & naugahyde arm chair in the next couple of days.   I'll be adding items to my shop in the next couple of weeks.

Oh yes, the Plycraft chair is staying with me!

On-Again, Off-Again Affair with Craigslist

This is the relationship I've had with CL Los Angeles lately but I'm happy to say we are on-again.  Our love affair is tumultuous, some days I hate it some days I love it but I always go back.

Here are my latest loves......I've found that Mondays are always good days to find great MCM pieces.

Broyhill Sculptra Headboard $75
Next to Brasilia, this is my 2nd favorite Broyhill design. This won't fit our King bed otherwise I'd scoop it up!  Gorgeous huh??

Friday Finds. Mid Century Lovin'!

It's favorite Friday finds time!  I love to scour Craigslist to see MCM items for sale, whether I need or can afford them or not.  It's a bit torturous because I inevitably find something I love and want, but I know we all do it.  Come on, admit it!

Here are some current faves for sale on CL Los Angeles & San Diego:

Walnut Storage Display Case Book Case $375

Space Age Lamps $300/pair

Gerald Thurston Lamp $175

Walnut Wood Frame Lounge Chairs (need work) $120

Mid Century Teak & Tile End Table $150

DUX Lounge with Cane Backrest $300

Broyhill Sculptra Dresser $485

Paul McCobb Nightstand $150

Danish Modern Lamp $75

DUX 63C Lounge $600

Danish Rosewood Credenza $3000

Milo Baughman Lounge $350

Mid Century Chair $175

Mid Century Coffee Table Magazine Rack $120 (I really want this!)
UPDATE on this piece: I tried to get it.  I emailed 10 minutes after it was posted and said I would purchase it. Got an email about an hour later saying "Someone is coming to see it.  I'll update you".  I replied with an offer of a good amount more than she was asking but when she replied it was already sold.  This one hurt.  I really, really wanted this table.  Oh well, can't win them all.

Mid Century Slat Bench with Cushion $65

I see some deals here. Granted, they aren't the prices my mid-west friends see but for LA some of these aren't too bad.  I've got my eye on a couple of these pieces but unfortunately I'm off to a meeting in 20 minutes and I have a busy day after.  I'm assuming my favorites here won't be there by day's end.  (I was right - the magazine table, gone in a hour!)

TGIF! More Broyhill Love with Sculptra.

It's been a long and busy week for me, hence my absent posts.  TGIF with a huge exclamation point (!)  Can I get an amen?!  On the heels of my Brasilia restoration and subsequent posts  I decided to comment once more on Broyhill and then put it to rest....for awhile anyway...I'm obsessed, what can I say?

Broyhill's other spectacular and easily identifiable collection from the mid century is the Sculptra line.   Unlike Brasilia with it's sweeping curves, Sculptra's focal design is comprised of straight lines in a box formation.   I also love this line, but for different reasons.  It's very modern, fresh and controlled in it's design.    I have yet to come across a piece of Sculptra in all my years of hunting but I believe, like my once unattainable Brasilia, it's out there somewhere.  *** UPDATE 1/30 I FOUND a Sculptra Magna dresser for a steal! Now just need to figure out how/when to get it because like the Brasilia set, it's hours away. ***

I love Brasilia but let me tell you, Sculptra pulls at my heart....a lot.  Do you have a favorite?
