Thrift Store Finds.

I hit five thrift stores yesterday and managed to find 4 cool vintage pieces. It's getting harder and harder to find vintage, at least here in Los Angeles. I remember years ago leaving one thrift store with bags full of great finds.  Now, I leave empty handed on most trips.

Fred Press Cheese Plate

I have several like this and they don't sell well in my shop but I just can't pass them up.  I figure I could always use them for entertaining if no one else wants them.

On-Again, Off-Again Affair with Craigslist

This is the relationship I've had with CL Los Angeles lately but I'm happy to say we are on-again.  Our love affair is tumultuous, some days I hate it some days I love it but I always go back.

Here are my latest loves......I've found that Mondays are always good days to find great MCM pieces.

Broyhill Sculptra Headboard $75

Next to Brasilia, this is my 2nd favorite Broyhill design. This won't fit our King bed otherwise I'd scoop it up!  Gorgeous huh??

Danish Rocking Chair

Look what I found on Craigslist yesterday!  You know how I love Mid Cenury / Danish rocking chairs.  I tried to get it.  She only wanted $100 but because she got so many offers and offers well above her asking price, she decided to keep it.  I would keep it too!  

The Designs of Sol Bloom

This was a mid century designer I had never heard of until just recently. It appears his scarce designs are a very rare find these days.  He designed for Designs for Moderns and New Dimensions furniture for a very short period in the 1950's.

The Wall Sconce that Started a Frenzy

I came across this incredible Walnut Candle Sconce on A Design Enthusiast blog and fell in love.  Great find Sudha!  It got my heart racing and started a frenzy. I must have my own mid century/danish modern/atomic age candle wall sconce!  Great, a new obsession!
