Mid Century Sofa Daybed, Selig Rocking Chair and More...

I've been very lucky lately in the mid century world. In past blog posts I've written about my obsessions: Danish modern rocking chairs, Plycraft lounge chairs, Daybed-style Sofas, Z Chairs, and Brasilia and Sculptra designs by Broyhill.  Guess what?  Somehow I've since acquired all of these pieces.  Is it that you put it out in the universe and it comes to you OR is it that patience and persistence (and a lot of hard work), pay off? A little of both I think.

My latest killer finds......

A mid century floating daybed style sofa.

I'm not crazy about the navy & yellow upholstery but I love the sofa itself.  I'm living with the colors for now and seeing if it grows on me but I'm thinking "no" at the moment.
Is my lamp too big for this sofa?  Drat, I think so....

And today, I picked up this Selig Rocking Chair.  Drool right? I never thought I'd own one but I came across this beauty and just had to spring for it.   Dare I say I might part with the pair of Z chairs to keep this?   Decisions, decisions.  I can't keep them all, though I'd love to.

I also picked up these items today:

I like the blue and yellow on the sofa but, it has a clean look to it and doesn't take away from the simple lines of the sofa itself. The rocker is awesome but not feeling the fabric on it. Good Stuff!

I agree. I'm not digging the rocker upholstery too much. I might change it.

I don't think you could rip the Z chairs outta my possesion, even with this very cool Selig...Nice finds!! the day bed is fun too and yes the lamp does look a bit large for it...

Yep, I quickly realized that lamp looks stupid on such a minimal piece. I swapped it for another lamp and it looks so much better. Hubby and I reconfigured our entry and living room so many times to try and make the rocker work and guess what.....not happening! It will go up for sale in my shop soon. I'm sad but if we can't make it work, we can't make it work. Someone else should enjoy it.

You've made some amazing finds. I love, love, love that rocker! I don't think I could give it up. The daybed is fantastic too. I actually like the yellow and navy together, but I don't have those colors in my house, so I'd probably change the upholstery too.

Love that rocker - really, you can't make it work? I don't think I would give it up! I really like the office chair, too. Looks perfect for a "secretary"!

Super finds! I really like the rocker (but not so much the upholstery.) That yellow office chair is pretty sweet too. Love the candle holder. I almost picked up one of those ball deals not too long ago. Can't remember why I passed it up. My grandparents had one and I could play with that thing for hours!

I understand the hard choices of what gets to stay and what has to go. I am having sellers remorse over selling my two bent plywood scoop chairs this week.
