My New Loves. Saarinen Inspired Side Tables.

One of my favorite designs from the mid century is Eero Saarinen's tulip style.  About 2 years ago I spotted a small white tulip end table on Craigslist. I paused, I lost.   I just knew that some day I would come across them again.   I had to wait about 2 years, but yesterday was that day. I spotted a Craigslist ad that read something like "moving sale, 60's and 70's furniture".  There they were, a pair no less!   I drove in rush hour traffic to get them. There and back, thanks to the Los Angeles traffic, it took me about 2 hours to make what would otherwise have been a 30 minute round trip. That's okay though. I had to have them and I LOVE!  Now, where to put them and what to place on top. Oh what fun!

Jonathan Winters, the Actor, the Artist.

Who knew Jonathan Winters was an artist besides a hilarious actor? Apparently a lot of people! Just not me, until recently.  I came across a killer sketch at the past weekend's estate sale and thought "Hmmmm, the Jonathan Winters"? I had to have it.  Wish I could say it was a real painting but it's just a poster.  I was immediately drawn to the strangeness of it and the 60's styling. It's kinda out there in terms of design, somewhat strange you might say, but I like that stuff!

I posted the Jonathan Winters art here on my blog on Sunday and I received many comments and emails saying that indeed people knew he was an artist and everyone seemed to love his work.  I had to investigate to see what I had been missing all this time!  I'm in love and now want more of his work.

Estate Sale Part II. I had to go back!

The estate sale I went to yesterday was so good I had to go back today for more.  I didn't think there would be anything good left but wow, was I wrong. Best part, everything was half off today.  Check what I hauled home.....

Saturday Estate SAILing.

'Twas a good day for pickin!  I was up bright and early and at the sale at 7-ish. My friend Kevin was there so that helped to make the hour pass quickly.  I was #3 through the door.  Love that.

My first score was a set of 2 matching Danish style lounge chairs. I love this style chairs.  I already have 3  in my house, each a bit different,  but I needed another one for my den.  Score!
