One of my favorite designs from the mid century is Eero Saarinen's tulip style. About 2 years ago I spotted a small white tulip end table on Craigslist. I paused, I lost. I just knew that some day I would come across them again. I had to wait about 2 years, but yesterday was that day. I spotted a Craigslist ad that read something like "moving sale, 60's and 70's furniture". There they were, a pair no less! I drove in rush hour traffic to get them. There and back, thanks to the Los Angeles traffic, it took me about 2 hours to make what would otherwise have been a 30 minute round trip. That's okay though. I had to have them and I LOVE! Now, where to put them and what to place on top. Oh what fun!
My little tulip tables.
My tulip chair. Lives in my office.
Today we talk Tulip. Not the flower, though I like them too, but the fabulous curve of the Saarinen inspired shape....

Nest Chair. A must have when we have babies.

Absolutely loverly...:)Your little chair is perfect in its corner.
So jealous, you have the best thrifting luck! It's funny because you picked out my friend Katherine's dining set to highlight (with the blue and orange seats). I posted photos of her store on my blog:

WOW!!!
Lucky you! And living in southern CA, I feel your pain getting them, but congrats!!!
Leilani, that is so funny! What a small world. I LOVE Back Garage!!
These tables are amazing! I'm positive that whatever is displayed on them will look gallery-worthy. Even a morning cup of coffee. Congratulations!
Those high chairs are a-mazing by the way. If I win the lottery before this next baby is born, one will be in my living room. Immediately. And I will force said baby to sit in it for at least five years. Worth it!
Super score on the tables - totally worth the 2 hour roundtrip for them. Very interesting high chairs. I don't have little ones but if I did, I would so need them!
truly classic. cant beat the versatility of Saarinen designs
Hey this chairs really look great, especially the sleek design and the edges.
