Separation Issues, Vintage Style

I'm addicted to vintage. I have a hard time selling some, okay most, of my vintage finds.  The idea is always to keep my Etsy shop fresh with new items weekly.  However, what usually happens is I find cool things, can't part with them and somehow work them into my house.  It's getting ridiculous.  I have a hard time separating myself from these fabulous finds.

Case in point: Recently acquired 1950's desk lamp....

I came across this beauty a couple weeks ago at a thrift store up north.  It was supposed to be for my shop. Where is it now?  On my desk!  I was using a turquoise blue Tensor lamp that I absolutely love but that's in my closet for now while this lamp enjoys some time in my office.  Ugh!

Case 2: Owl-shaped wine rack......

I found this on Saturday.  Even though I have a hanging wine rack in my kitchen and an amazing honeycomb shaped rosewood mid century wine rack in the dining room, I want to keep this!  Give me a break - where will it go?

Case 3: Atomic Lamp.....

You know how I feel about mid-century lamps.  Obsessed!  But really, I need another lamp? I have no room anywhere!  I already have a stash of mid century things in my garage for "later" ....."when I have a bigger house".  Did I just admit that?!

Please tell me you can relate to hoarding vintage and mid century pieces!

Yes, yes indeed. I do understand. I "justify" this behavior by constantly rotating items in and out of storage. Also most items ARE available...for the right price. Knowing that selling these items isn't absolutely necessary means I don't have to haggle on the price and can get them into the hands of someone who Truly wants them. But ya gotta have lots of storage to do this.

Good point Mr. Mod - available at the "right price". I should try that!

I LOVE all those things. While I had some good luck with some a sweet 70's afghan and quilt and cool 50's art this weekend, I NEVER find stuff this cool!

I totally understand having a hard time letting go of vintage finds! If we didn't keep so many things, I think we'd sell a lot more stuff. And yes, the "right price" method - it really only works if you've got lots of storage. Our garage.. oh, the humanity =)

The owl wine rack is a keeper. They're all keepers! I understand about the lamp obsession. I bought another one today. Didn't need it, have no room for it, but I had to have it.

I am becoming a china hoarder, I fear. Usually I don't have any problem selling pieces to make room for new ones, but I can't think of any china I want to sell. I'm going to run out of places to display it soon.
